Terms of Service
Effective date: 27.5.2026
Last updated: 27.5.2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Homewallet website, mobile application, platform, software, customer support, and related services together referred to as the "Services".
The Services are provided by:
Homewallet Oy
Email: kata@homewallet.io
By creating an account, using the Services, starting a subscription, or purchasing a paid feature, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.
These Terms apply to consumer users. Separate terms may apply to business users, partners, suppliers, enterprise customers, or professional users.
1. What Homewallet is
Homewallet helps consumers manage home-related financial information, bills, invoices, documents, due dates, payment status, reminders, and related household finance information in one place.
Depending on the features available to you, the Services may include:
invoice and bill storage;
invoice scanning and data extraction;
payment reminders;
payment tracking;
home-related document management;
bank-account or payment-account connections;
payment initiation or payment facilitation through authorised partners;
financial overviews, summaries, and insights;
cashback, rewards, referral campaigns, or promotional features;
customer support.
Homewallet is a financial-management and administrative convenience tool. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Homewallet is not a bank, credit institution, deposit-taking institution, insurance provider, investment adviser, tax adviser, legal adviser, accounting firm, debt collection agency, or regulated payment institution.
If regulated banking, payment, account information, payment initiation, identity verification, or similar services are provided, they may be provided by authorised third-party partners under their own terms and regulatory responsibilities.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Services.
You may use the Services only for your personal, household, and consumer purposes, unless Homewallet separately agrees otherwise in writing.
You must use the Services in compliance with applicable law.
3. Account registration and security
You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when creating and using your account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must notify Homewallet without delay if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You are responsible for activity under your account unless the activity was caused by Homewallet's failure to use legally required or appropriate security measures.
We may require additional authentication, verification, or security steps before allowing access to certain features.
4. Identity checks and compliance
Certain features may require identity verification, fraud checks, sanctions screening, payment checks, bank-account verification, or other compliance procedures.
These checks may be carried out by Homewallet or by regulated partners, identity verification providers, payment providers, banks, open-banking providers, or other service providers.
We may refuse, restrict, suspend, or delay access to certain features where required by law, regulation, risk controls, security requirements, partner requirements, or suspected misuse.
5. Bank connections and payment-related features
If you choose to connect a bank account, payment account, or use payment-related functionality, you authorise Homewallet and/or its authorised service providers to access, receive, process, display, and use relevant account, transaction, payment, and metadata strictly as needed to provide the feature you requested.
Bank-account connections and payment-related features may be provided by authorised banks, open-banking providers, payment initiation service providers, account information service providers, card processors, or other regulated partners.
Those partners may have their own terms, privacy notices, security requirements, authentication flows, fees, availability rules, and liability rules. You may be required to accept their terms before using the relevant feature.
Homewallet does not hold deposits, operate a bank account, safeguard funds, issue electronic money, provide credit, or provide regulated payment services unless this is expressly stated in the Services and supported by the applicable regulated entity's terms.
You must review and confirm all payment details before authorising any payment, including recipient, amount, due date, payment reference, account number, and other payment information.
Unless Homewallet expressly offers and you separately activate an authorised automatic payment feature, Homewallet does not make payments on your behalf without your confirmation.
6. Invoice scanning, AI, OCR, and automated features
Homewallet may use OCR, automation, machine learning, or AI-assisted tools to read invoices, extract data, categorise documents, identify due dates, create reminders, detect possible errors, or generate summaries and insights.
These tools are provided for convenience. They may produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading results.
You are responsible for checking important information before relying on it, including:
invoice amount;
due date;
payment recipient;
payment reference;
IBAN or account number;
payment status;
reminder date;
tax, legal, contractual, or financial meaning of a document.
Homewallet is not responsible for late payment fees, interest, collection costs, missed due dates, incorrect payment references, wrong recipients, or similar consequences caused by incorrect source documents, user error, third-party data, bank or payment provider failures, notification failures, or failure to review information, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
7. Reminders and notifications
Homewallet may provide reminders, alerts, notifications, or summaries relating to bills, invoices, documents, due dates, payment status, subscriptions, home costs, or other information.
Reminders and notifications are convenience features only. They are not guaranteed to be delivered at any particular time or without error.
You remain responsible for monitoring your own bills, payments, legal obligations, due dates, subscriptions, household contracts, and financial commitments.
Homewallet may send notifications by email, push notification, SMS, in-app message, or other available communication methods. Delivery may depend on your device settings, internet connection, app permissions, email provider, telecom provider, and third-party services.
8. Fees, paid plans, and billing
Some Services may be free. Other Services may require payment.
Homewallet may charge subscription fees, transaction fees, premium feature fees, partner fees, payment fees, or other charges. The applicable price, billing period, taxes, renewal terms, payment method, and main features of the paid Service will be shown before you commit to purchase.
By subscribing to a paid Service or purchasing a paid feature, you authorise Homewallet or its payment provider to charge the applicable fees using your selected payment method.
Unless stated otherwise before purchase, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
You are responsible for ensuring that your payment method is valid and has sufficient funds. If payment fails, we may retry the payment, request a new payment method, suspend paid features, or terminate the paid Service.
We may change prices in accordance with section 20 of these Terms.
9. Free trials and promotional offers
Homewallet may offer free trials, discounts, referral benefits, cashback, rewards, or other promotions.
Specific terms may apply to each promotion. If there is a conflict between these Terms and specific campaign rules, the specific campaign rules apply to that campaign.
We may refuse, cancel, reverse, or withhold promotional benefits where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, technical error, duplicate accounts, breach of campaign rules, payment reversal, or non-compliance with these Terms.
Rewards are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed under the applicable campaign rules.
10. Cashback, rewards, and referral programmes
Cashback, rewards, referral bonuses, or similar benefits are promotional benefits and not deposits, wages, interest, investment returns, or guaranteed financial products.
Eligibility may depend on campaign rules, verified activity, payment status, account status, fraud checks, and compliance checks.
Homewallet may delay, cancel, reverse, or refuse rewards where:
the transaction is reversed, refunded, cancelled, disputed, or fraudulent;
the user breaches these Terms or campaign rules;
the reward was created because of a technical or pricing error;
the user creates duplicate or fake accounts;
Homewallet reasonably suspects abuse or manipulation;
a partner refuses, reverses, or fails to confirm the qualifying activity.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, rewards have no cash value until confirmed and made available under the relevant campaign terms.
11. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have a legal right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.
The withdrawal period usually begins when the contract is concluded.
If you request that Homewallet starts providing a paid digital service during the withdrawal period, you may be required to give explicit consent for immediate performance and acknowledge that this may affect your withdrawal rights.
Where required by law, Homewallet will provide withdrawal information before purchase.
To exercise your withdrawal right, contact us at:
support@homewallet.fi
You should include your name, email address, account details, and a clear statement that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.
If you validly withdraw, we will refund payments as required by applicable law. We may deduct or charge amounts permitted by law for services already provided where you expressly requested performance during the withdrawal period and were properly informed of the consequences.
12. Cancellation and termination by you
You may stop using the Services at any time.
You may cancel a paid subscription through the account settings, app store subscription settings, payment provider flow, or by contacting Homewallet support, depending on how you purchased the subscription.
Cancellation prevents future renewal but does not automatically entitle you to a refund for a period already paid, unless required by applicable law or expressly stated in the applicable plan terms.
After cancellation, you may continue to access paid features until the end of the paid billing period unless otherwise stated or unless your access is terminated for breach, legal reasons, security reasons, or non-payment.
You may request account deletion, subject to legal retention requirements, payment records, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and other lawful reasons described in the Homewallet Privacy Policy.
13. Consumer rights and defects in digital services
Nothing in these Terms limits your mandatory consumer rights.
If the Services are defective under applicable consumer law, you may have the right to request correction of the defect, a price reduction, cancellation of the contract, refund, or compensation where required by law.
A defect may exist if the Services do not correspond to what was agreed, do not function as required by mandatory law, or are not corrected within a reasonable time after Homewallet becomes responsible for correcting them.
To report a problem, contact:
support@homewallet.fi
Please describe the issue, affected feature, device, date, and any relevant screenshots or documents.
14. User responsibilities
You agree not to:
use the Services unlawfully, fraudulently, or abusively;
provide false, misleading, or incomplete information;
impersonate another person;
access another person's account without permission;
upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content;
interfere with the app, website, APIs, infrastructure, or security features;
reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or misuse the Services except where permitted by mandatory law;
use the Services to breach sanctions, anti-money laundering rules, consumer laws, payment laws, or other applicable laws;
upload documents you do not have the right to upload;
use the Services for business purposes unless separately agreed;
use the Services in a way that harms Homewallet, other users, partners, third-party providers, or the integrity of the Services.
15. User content and documents
You retain ownership of documents, invoices, bills, files, messages, and other content you upload to Homewallet.
You grant Homewallet a limited right to host, store, process, display, analyse, extract data from, transmit, and use your content only as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, improve, and support the Services, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
You confirm that you have the right to upload and use the content you provide.
You should not upload unnecessary sensitive information or documents that are not relevant to your use of the Services.
We may remove content or restrict access where we reasonably believe it is unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, technically unsafe, or in breach of these Terms.
16. Third-party services
The Services may rely on third-party banks, payment providers, open-banking providers, identity verification providers, cloud providers, analytics providers, app stores, communication providers, AI/OCR providers, and other service providers.
Third-party services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, fees, availability, security requirements, and liability rules.
Homewallet is not responsible for independent acts, omissions, outages, delays, errors, restrictions, fees, or decisions of third-party services, except where Homewallet is legally responsible under mandatory law.
17. App stores
If you download the Homewallet app through an app store, such as Apple App Store or Google Play, the app store's own terms may also apply.
The app store provider is not responsible for providing support for the Services unless required under its own terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homewallet is responsible for customer support relating to the Services.
18. Service availability and changes to features
We aim to provide the Services with reasonable skill and care.
However, we do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device, bank, payment provider, document type, invoice format, or operating system.
We may temporarily suspend or limit the Services for maintenance, updates, security, compliance, technical issues, partner outages, or legal reasons.
We may add, modify, or remove features from time to time. If a material change significantly reduces a paid Service you have already purchased, we will provide notice and any rights required by applicable consumer law.
19. Intellectual property
Homewallet and its licensors own all rights in the Services, including software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics, workflows, databases, algorithms, documentation, and other intellectual property.
Subject to these Terms, Homewallet grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for personal consumer purposes.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Services except where permitted by mandatory law.
20. Changes to these Terms and prices
We may update these Terms for legal, regulatory, security, technical, product, or commercial reasons.
For material changes affecting an ongoing paid consumer contract, we will provide reasonable advance notice, normally at least 30 days where required or appropriate.
If a material change negatively affects your rights or materially changes the paid Service, you may terminate the Service before the change takes effect.
Price changes will not apply retroactively to periods already paid. We will inform you of price changes before they take effect, and you may cancel your subscription before the new price applies.
Minor changes, technical updates, corrections, or changes required by law may take effect sooner where necessary.
21. Suspension and termination by Homewallet
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to all or part of the Services if:
you breach these Terms;
you provide false or misleading information;
we suspect fraud, abuse, unauthorised access, or security risk;
you fail identity, fraud, sanctions, or compliance checks;
payment fails and remains unpaid;
a bank, payment provider, app store, or regulated partner requires it;
we are required to do so by law, regulation, authority request, court order, or risk-control requirement;
continued access could harm Homewallet, users, partners, or the integrity of the Services.
Where reasonably possible and lawful, we will notify you of the reason and allow you to remedy the issue. We may act without notice where necessary for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or protection of users.
Termination does not affect rights, obligations, payments, refunds, liabilities, or legal claims that arose before termination.
22. No professional advice
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Services do not constitute legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, insurance, debt, credit, or professional advice.
Any summaries, insights, reminders, categories, or suggestions are provided for general information and convenience only.
You should make your own decisions and consult a qualified professional where needed.
23. Liability
Homewallet is liable only for losses that are directly caused by Homewallet's breach of these Terms or mandatory legal duties and that were reasonably foreseeable.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homewallet is not liable for:
indirect or consequential losses;
loss of profit, income, business, goodwill, opportunity, or data;
late fees, collection costs, interest, penalties, or missed discounts caused by user error, incorrect documents, bank or payment provider failures, notification failures, or failure to verify information;
third-party service outages, errors, restrictions, or decisions;
inaccurate OCR, AI, or automated extraction where the user failed to review the information before relying on it;
unauthorised access caused by the user's failure to protect login credentials;
delays, failures, or errors caused by events outside Homewallet's reasonable control;
incompatibility with a specific device, bank, provider, document type, or operating system, unless required by mandatory law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights, liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence where applicable, or statutory liability for defective digital services.
24. Force majeure
Homewallet is not responsible for delay or failure to perform caused by events outside its reasonable control, including serious technical failures, internet or telecom outages, cyberattacks, failures of banks or payment providers, app store restrictions, regulatory actions, strikes, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, pandemics, power failures, or other comparable events.
This clause does not limit mandatory consumer rights.
25. Privacy
Your use of the Services is also governed by the Homewallet Privacy Policy, which explains how Homewallet processes personal data.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that personal data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
26. Complaints and customer support
If you have a complaint, contact us first at:
support@homewallet.fi
Please include your name, account email, description of the issue, affected feature, and relevant documents or screenshots.
We aim to handle complaints fairly and within a reasonable time.
If you are a consumer in Finland and the matter cannot be resolved directly with Homewallet, you may have the right to contact Finnish Consumer Advisory Services and, where applicable, bring the matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board.
27. Assignment
You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms to another person without Homewallet's prior written consent.
Homewallet may transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of business, sale of assets, or similar transaction, provided that your mandatory consumer rights are not reduced.
28. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
The invalid provision will be replaced or interpreted in a way that most closely reflects the original purpose, to the extent permitted by law.
29. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland.
If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
Disputes shall be handled by the competent courts of Finland, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings in another forum.
